Official visit of Prime Minister of Anguilla

The Prime Minister of Anguilla, Honourable Premier Ellis L. Webster and First Lady, Michelle Webster-Connor along with other notable dignitaries like the Speaker of the National Assembly, Barbara Webster-Bourne and Husband visited the Agri-Impact Greenhouse Cluster in Dawhenya during his recent visit to Ghana for the 66th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference. The visit was organized by Lady Dentaa Amoateng, the President of Guba, and her media team.

Opening remarks

Youth constitute 36% of 32.5 million people in Ghana. The youth population in Africa is projected to reach 42% of global population by 2030 (World Economic Forum). Despite the challenges of unfavourable land tenure systems, limited technical capacity, erratic climate and inadequate financing, the agriculture sector offers huge opportunities to create decent and sustainable jobs for youth, women and differently able persons.

AIC and GEXIM joint visit to Netherlands embassy

The Africa Strategy of the Netherlands (2023 - 2032), published in May 2023, highlights an integrated vision of political and economic cooperation across Africa anchored on equality, reduce poverty, improve respect for human rights and limit irregular migration. In the next decade, the Netherlands intend to strengthen its trade partnerships, investments as well as development and humanitarian funding in all 54 countries across the continent. 

Minister of Food and Agriculture visits Dawhenya Greenhouse Enclave

Hon. Brian Acheampong, Minister of Food and Agriculture, applauded Agri-Impact Group for championing the use of greenhouse technology in tackling food insecurity and post harvest loss in Ghana amidst issues on climate change experienced around the world. He said this during his tour of the Dawhenya YuGEP enclave which is the largest of the greenhouse vegetable production enclave in Ghana. 

The minister encouraged the Group to expand its capacity building activities to cover a wider range of the youth towards the improvement of Ghana’s transformative agribusiness agenda.
