As an MPhil student in Landscape Studies at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Gloria Obodia never imagined herself as an entrepreneur. But through the EHAPPY Program, she discovered not just digital skills—but a new vision for her future.

EHAPPY, a footprint of the broader HAPPY Program, is an initiative of Mastercard Foundation in partnership with Agri-Impact Limited. The program equips young people with digital tools and entrepreneurial mindsets to support agribusinesses and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana.

Over the years, the company has sponsored employees for specialized training programs and fellowships, reinforcing its commitment to excellence in agribusiness.

About 50 young women have received intensive training in broiler production under the Harnessing Agriculture Productivity and Prosperity for Youth (HAPPY) Program, a collaborative initiative between the Mastercard Foundation and Agri-Impact Limited.  

The trainees, mobilized by the National Service Authority (NSA), gathered at the NSA Farm in Papao, Haatso, for an intensive session on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. 

This latest cohort brings the total number of women trained in broiler production at the facility in the past two weeks to 80.

As part of efforts to enhance the effectiveness of the National Service Authority’s (NSA) role in the Harnessing Agricultural Productivity and Prosperity for Youth (HAPPY) Program, a strategic meeting was held with the leadership of Agri-Impact Limited, a leading agribusiness firm. 
 
HAPPY Program is a partnership between the Mastercard Foundation and Agri-Impact Limited with the focus of enabling job opportunities for 326,000 youth aged 15 to 35 in the poultry, tomato, rice and soya value chains.

The Chief Executive Officer of Agri-Impact Limited, Mr. Daniel Fahene Acquaye, has raised concerns over the budgetary allocation to the agricultural sector in the 2025 national budget saying it is very insufficient.

Speaking at the 2025 Budget Digest organized by PwC in Accra, he complained that the current allocation is inadequate to drive the economic transformation envisioned by the government.

Mr. Acquaye highlighted that out of the total GH¢279 billion budget, only GH¢1.5 billion—representing 0.54%—has been allocated to agriculture.

The 2022 National Best Farmer and CEO of Siriboe Farms, Nana Yaw Sarpong Siriboe, visited Fresh Logistics' greenhouse farms at Dawhenya near Prampram in Accra last Friday.

The visit was part of a familiarization tour aimed at strengthening ties between both companies, which play vital roles in Ghana’s agricultural sector.
