150 Young Women Complete Rice-Processing Training and Receive Start-Up Kits

One hundred and fifty young women in Walewale, North East Region, have completed a rice processing value chain training programme and received start-up kits to help them launch and grow their own enterprises.

The intervention was carried out under the HAPPY Project through the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), as part of ongoing efforts to empower young women in agribusiness across Ghana.

GEA Chief Executive Officer Ms Margaret Ansei, who attended the event, noted the significance of the support: "These start-up kits are not just tools; they are productive assets that will enable these women to turn their training into tangible income-generating activities."

The event was also attended by officials from the West Mamprusi District Assembly, as well as traditional chiefs and opinion leaders from the surrounding communities, who expressed strong support for the programme.
