Edmund Teye Mate-Kole is a dedicated Agribusiness and Value Chain Development Expert with over eight years of postgraduate experience focused on transforming smallholder farming through technology adoption, capacity building, and robust project management. His career bridges grassroots agricultural extension with strategic program oversight, driven by a commitment to sustainable rural development and food security. 

Currently serving as the Manager, Project Impact and Learning at Agri-Impact Limited, Edmund holds a pivotal role in monitoring, evaluating, and coordinating the firm's diverse project portfolio. He ensures that field-level activities are strategically aligned, impactful, and generate valuable learning for continuous improvement. 

A significant portion of his impact is measured through direct community engagement. Edmund has extensive experience liaising with farmers, having facilitated the mobilization of over 50,000 smallholders. He has designed and delivered capacity building programs for hundreds of Community Based Advisors (CBAs), Trainer of Trainers (ToTs), and FBO leaders, covering critical topics from Good Agronomic Practices and leadership to structured marketing and post-harvest management. His hands-on approach, which includes organizing demonstration trials and field days, has been instrumental in driving the adoption of improved seeds, fertilizers, and crop protection technologies, leading to measurable yield increases in staple crops under projects like AGRA's Smallholder Inclusive Productivity and Market Access (SIPMA). 

Edmund's expertise extends across the agricultural value chain. He has contributed to numerous strategic studies and initiatives, including 

Serving as the Soybean Value Chain Coordinator and M&E focal point for the Mastercard Foundation's HAPPY Program, where he developed the program's logical framework and KPIs. 

 Providing technical support for the development of a Private Sector Engagement Strategy for Agricultural Research for Development (AR4D) for the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA). 

 Contributing to Competency Based Training (CBT) curriculum development for TVET institutions in partnership with GIZ. 

 Supporting feasibility studies, business plan development, and advisory services for major clients such as Ghana EXIM Bank and international donors. 

He holds an MPhil in Mutation Breeding and Biotechnology from the University of Ghana and a BSc in Agriculture (Crop Science) from KNUST, providing a strong scientific foundation. This is complemented by a professional Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation Fundamentals from GIMPA, equipping him with the tools to measure and analyze project impact effectively.
