Agri-Impact Group has signed a three-year partnership agreement with a regional seed-systems initiative to strengthen access to certified quality seed for smallholder farmers across six West African countries.
The partnership will leverage Agri-Impact's existing farmer networks — built through programmes such as SOPMEP, OFSP, and HAPPY — to create demand-driven seed distribution channels that reach farmers in remote and underserved areas.
Key Objectives
- Train 200 village-based agro-dealers as seed quality inspectors
- Establish 50 community seed banks in the Upper East and Upper West regions of Ghana
- Link at least 15,000 smallholder farmers to certified seed sources by 2027
- Support the regulatory harmonisation of seed standards across ECOWAS
"Quality seed is the single most cost-effective investment a farmer can make," said CEO Daniel Acquaye. "This partnership puts that investment within reach of farmers who have been excluded for too long."
The initiative is co-funded by a consortium of development finance institutions and will be formally launched at a regional event in Accra in February 2026.
