Fresh Logistics Limited has reached a significant operational milestone, expanding its greenhouse network to 176 units — making it one of the largest controlled-environment agriculture operations in West Africa.
The expansion adds 34 new structures across three growing sites in the Greater Accra and Volta regions, increasing total growing area by approximately 40% and annual production capacity to over 2,400 metric tonnes of premium vegetables.
What's Being Grown
The greenhouses produce tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, lettuce, and herbs for retail supermarkets, hotel chains, and export buyers in Europe. Year-round supply — regardless of seasonal rainfall — is a key competitive advantage.
Impact on Youth Employment
The expansion has created over 80 new permanent jobs, with priority given to graduates of the HAPPY Program's greenhouse enterprise module. Fresh Logistics is now one of the largest private-sector employers of HAPPY alumni.
"Controlled-environment agriculture is the future of food security in Ghana," said MD Maame Nyarko. "We are proving it works at scale."
